There comes a time in EVERYONE’s life when you have to draw a line in the sand….
Sometimes it happens when your children overstep their boundries…
Sometimes with a spouse….
Alot of times it happens in the workplace….
Your boss asks you to do something that just doesn’t feel right…
Sometimes your boss totally oversteps and treats you terribly…
You get asked to work overtime and don’t get paid…
You get yelled at like you are junk yard dog…
You get written up because you have to leave early to take care of your sick kid or elderly parent…
and your boss doesn’t let you go…and you go anyway because you have to…
Can you relate to any of that…???
Sometimes those things create “defining” moments in our lives…
Moments in which EVERYTHING changes….
Moments that allow us to get really clear about who we really are in the matter of our lives…
Moments that force us to take a stand for ourselves and who we really are as people…
Everything good and everything bad that has ever happened in our lives has happened in a single moment…
It happens in the moment that we act and react.
It happens in the moment that we decide to pay attention to our children or parents…
respond to our bosses or staff…
go home on time rather than work late again…
It happens in the moment that we decide to be honest with ourselves about how we feel…
or hide our truth from others and ourselves.
It happens in the moment that we decide if something is funny…
or we choose take it as something more serious…
It is a moment that leaves us elated or depressed…
excited or diminished…
self-confident and strong …
or weak and victimized…
It is all a personal choice…
The past couple of weeks have been a FIRE WALK for me and my team…
Our primary company has been going through alot of changes recently…
What do you do when the company you LOVE morphs into something that just doesn’t FEEL good any longer…???
What do you do when you see a product line go from primo to poo-poo…???
What do you do when you see a comp plan turn into a bunch of whirling…swirling…ever expanding matrices promising a pot of fool’s gold at the end of the rainbow…???
For me and my team…it was time to step back and really take a hard look at everything…
We had to really drill down and get clear about who we are as human beings and who we are as business people…
We took our time and REALLY looked at what it was going on…
What all the changes REALLY meant to our customers as end users of our products and to us as distributors…
What the crazy changes in the comp plan meant to us and how they increased our legal liabilities and the overall ethics of marketing a business that could possibly harm people financially in the long run…
We listened … we talked … we workshopped all of the new information…
Thank goodness for the lessons that we had learned all the way…

NEVER TREAT PEOPLE like they are ATM machines…
Provide over the top value…
Service people well with the things that will solve their problems…
LOVE people enough do the RIGHT THING ALWAYS…

not all of us…and that is ok….

The time had come to draw a line in the sand….
We would not allow OUR integrity to be compromised…
We would not do a DIS-SERVICE to other people by representing something that we could not BE PROUD of…
We would treat OTHER PEOPLE with the respect that they deserve as fellow human beings…
We would not sell something that we could not guarantee…and NOONE can guarantee MONEY …
It felt like DEATH would be a better option than DISSING-HONOR…
Because by DISSING-HONOR we would certainly be DEAD in the water as business people…
Google has a very long and big memory…
God has an even longer and truer memory…
We resigned…
no drama …
no fear…
We had planned well…learned our lessons well…
We had done the thing that most long term successful business people don’t do at first…
We had built our businesses by developing real relationships with people…
We built our individual businesses based on who we are as people…and the unique value that we bring to the marketplace…
Our businesses will thrive…
Each one of us will continue to thrive…because we have respect for others and for ourselves…
It isn’t about making a buck at the expense of someone else….
It is all about being of such value to OTHERS that they really can’t imagine being here on earth without you….
What YOU make happen to other people…
The WORLD will make happen to you !!
