What's The Secret Behind Self-Confidence…???

Being scared really is ok…it's part of our hard-core wiring…

You know…the "fight or flight" survival instinct….

But…sometimes…you just have to get over it…or go around it…or go through it…

Especially if you want to do something that you have never done before…

I know I was petrified the first time I walked into a kitchen…

Chef told me to prep some celery, carrots and onions for 8 gallons of soup…..

He told me how much to prep…how to cut the vegetables…and…bless his heart..

He even reminded me to wash the vegatables first….

I was so nervous…I really wanted to do it right….

I washed the veggies…got everything all set….picked up my REALLY SHARP knife…

Started cutting the celery…and BAM…I cut my finger…good job Rose…

Got patched up and kept on going….it seemed like it took forever….

But I did it…and I only had a couple of bandages to show for my efforts….

Had to do the same thing the next day I came to work….and the next…and the next…

I…DidIt…DidIt…DidIt…DidIt…DidIt…DidIt…

After a month…I didn't even think about it …I Just DidIt….

Quickly too…no bandaids anymore either !!

The only way to gain self-confidence when doing something new is to…

Deal with the fear…if it isn't going to kill you…you will be ok….

And just DO IT…over and over and over and over again…

Until it becomes part of you…Until you own it….

I had to do the same thing for everything that I learned in the kitchen…

And then when I started climbing up the ranks…to Executive Chef…

There were even more things to be afraid of….

I had lot of people to manage…I had to speak in front of big groups of people…

I had to work with clients that were paying alot of money for their functions…

I had to give presentations….TALK and COOK at the same time…on TV…

I was scared each and every time I had something new to do….

But I did it enough so that I was able to do it without thinking about it….

Doesn't mean that I enjoyed everything I had to do….

Just means that I did it enough to get good at it so I was confident that I could do it…

I will never forget the first time I had to do a TV show…my segment was ONLY 15 minutes long…

And I was cooking MY OWN recipe…I was soooo scared that my legs were shaking in my clogs….

That lasted until I started to burn the onions I was sauteeing….

Then my past experience kicked in…

Got the onions to stop burning…all the while I was busy talking about what I was doing…

and teaching people a good skill to have at home….

Guess what…I had forgotten that there were TV cameras there…my knees stopped knocking…

Dinner was great…And….I didn't die…LOL

The next TV show….was so much easier….

By the end of the 12 episodes…it was a piece of cake…

Because I…DidIt…DidIt…DidIt…DidIt…DidIt…DidIt…

Guess What…???

It's the same thing with a network marketing business….

Let's talk about prospecting for a minute….

Most people…especially new people…don't like to prospect…

They don't like to call people….

They don't like to talk to friends and family…

But…if you aren't talking to people…how are you going to build your business..??

If you don't talk to people when they call you…how are you going to build your business..??

I know….your mother told you not to talk to strangers…

Question for you….is your mother still responsbile for paying your bills…??

If she isn't…it's time for you to start talking to all of the friends you haven't had a chance to meet yet…

If you're scared…it's ok…So was I…So were most other people…

Be willing to face your fear one little step at a time…

Make one phone call….talk to one new person…

If you didn't die…do it again….five times…

And keep on doing it…five new people a day…

Until you are talking to 10 new people every day consistently…

This is a good one month goal…

You will be surprised at how easy it gets and…

How much better the quality of your conversation becomes…

Exercise courage in the face of your fears…one little baby step at a time…

honestly..it is the only way that you are going to work your way through it…

I KNOW that you can do it…I did…and so have alot of other people…

The good news is… that if you face your fear …after a while it simply vanishes…
